Grab your popcorn and settle in for scenes from your favorite adventure, starring you and your party! Campaign Theater is here and ready to guide you through the many complex steps of encounter and campaign management.
For more than a decade, Hero Lab’s Tactical Console and Encounter Builder have been cornerstones for GMs. Now we’re leveraging the power of the internet and the modern age as we take those tools to the next level with Campaign Theater for Hero Lab Online!
Every campaign and encounter is unique, and no scene ever goes exactly according to the script, especially when the players are doing improv. From initiative to damage tracking, Campaign Theater manages many of the mechanical details for the whole party, allowing more time for creative roleplaying.
Users who already own Hero Lab Online can take the new features for a test drive by logging in and clicking on Campaigns in the upper right corner of the screen. Demo users don’t have access just yet, but it’s in the works and should be coming in the weeks ahead.
Campaign Theater is currently in Public Beta. We invite you to dive in, try things out, and share your feedback with us. As you may notice along the way, everything is steadily evolving, and we have an extensive roadmap ahead of us. Before you start your adventure, you may want to take a few minutes to review the Campaign Theater Primer, which provides a basic overview of all the new features and the many more yet to come.
Curious about the future? We have a lot of key features and helpful upgrades in mind for the weeks and months ahead, you can geek out about them with us in the lists below.
Key Features Coming Soon
The following list identifies what we believe are some of the most important features we plan to add during
the upcoming weeks. There are numerous smaller features planned beyond this list.
• More quick access capabilities directly from the stage for efficient use
• Stand-in PCs to incorporate players that don’t use Hero Lab Online themselves
• Direct creation of character types other than PCs and NPCs from within a campaign (you can currently
create these character types outside of a campaign and import them)
• Grouped initiative control for Pathfinder 2nd Edition to handle all NPCs acting on the same initiative and
minions acting at the same time as the PC
• Access to campaigns via demo accounts
• Placeholders for traps, events, and the like
• Support of the new dice roller within Pathfinder 2nd Edition and Starfinder
• Countdown trackers for consumable resources
• Detailed control of participants during scene resolution
• Sponsored access to content that’s not personally owned for characters within a campaign
Longer-Term Features
We also have a long list of features that won’t be introduced soon, but are on our road map and slated for this
year, including the following:
